Daylily Society Show at Tower Hill July 10

The New England Daylily Society will present a Daylily Show & Exhibition on Saturday, July 10th, from 1-5pm, when daylily enthusiasts of New England show their best grown and groomed daylily flowers.

The show will feature hundreds of cut flowers. An ongoing presentation on growing daylilies will run from 11am-1pm. A wide variety of daylily plants will also be for sale from
11am-2pm.

Many varieties are also sweetly fragrant. The scientific name Hemerocallis
is derived from the Greek words meaning "beauty" and "day"-referring to the beautiful
flowers that individually last but one day. However, the buds are produced in such
abundance that the plants flower for weeks.

New research commissioned by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has found that time spent gardening at school can improve your child's happiness as well as boosting their development. The study looked at 1,300 teachers in 10 schools and found that when a school encouraged children to participate in gardening activities they became more confident, resilient, healthier and their readiness to learn also improved dramatically.
